Q. I'm a netcom subscriber. they have a telnet icon which I tried to use
by typing in ffff, but recieved advice that this address isn't a host.
What should I do?
A. You should be typing in telnet://voyager.wdia.com:8282 at that prompt. The actual address is voyager.wdia.com:8282 only type the telnet:// prefix if you are using the command from the command window in your brower.
At that point you will be prompted for your Fillup Flyer Username and Password if you are already a member, or type NEW to join Fillup Flyer.

Q.
When should I use Waypoints when running an en route based fuel report?
A. Waypoints should only be used in order to take you over the mountains, water, or military restricted areas, otherwise it takes away from the amount of area that the computer searchs for the lowest cost Fbo because it zeros in on your waypoint and quotes you a price for that Fbo.
Date Asked: 06/18/96
Q.
Why is it sometimes when I use waypoints the computer will tell me
sorry bad route, you turned to far.
A. This means that you turned over a 90 degree angle turn. Our system doesn't allow you to turn this far from one "ID" to another. You would either have to change the "ID" that caused you to turn to far or request another report starting from the point that you turned the 90 degree angle. It doesn't matter how long your report is just as long as you do not turn the 90 degree angle turn.
Date Asked: 06/18/96
Q.
How far to the right and the left of the course does the computer
survey to pick up the lowest cost FBOS's?
A. It depends how long your route is. The computer surveys to the right and left of the course and picks up one possibly two of the lowest cost FBOS's and list them every 50 to 60nms without increasing your mileage flown any more than 3 percent or 15nms which ever is greater.

Q.
Serveral times like when I lilked on the Member reports or when I tried to do a print or save to disk I would get the following error:
A network error occurred while Netscape was receiving data.
Network Error Communication reset by Peer
Try connecting again.
I tried several times to print and got this each time.
I'm using AT&T as my ISP and as part of their package is Netscape 1.22ATT.

Q.
A member emailed, I suggest you change your background on the pages, the red shaded does not look very good.
A. The background on our pages is set to the RGB value of FFCC96 which is a light tan color, which is easy to read on. In Netscape 2.0 under Options - General Preferences - Colors there are boxes to click where you can set your our colors, overriding what is sent. Also some older browsers will substitute different colors from their pallete. Most browers can be set to default to white or grey backgrounds overriding all custom backgrounds

Q.
I can not do a "save as" while the report is up. It does not recognize
it as a html file. I did go to the url that is defined for my report if
I want to look at it later and once I had that up I was able to do a
save as and/or print.
A. If you are using one of the above suggested browsers. We have no problem saving and/or printing the reports.

Q.
Re: [PAO] [WVI] [RHV] These airports, I believe have self-service fuel
pumps. You might want to consider adding a section to reports on
locations of 24 hr automated credit card reader type fuel places.
This is very handy for those of us who don't always
fly during business hours?
A. Fillup Flyer already has the information and prices on all three of the above self-service fuel sources, as well as dozens more nationwide. Fillup Flyer will note that the pump is self-service in the expanded section of the reports. The Long or Expanded report format is required to see if it is self service. The selection criteria does not care whether the stop is self-service or not. All stops which meet the cost criteria and other supplemental criteria will be listed.
Date Asked: 07/09/96
Q.
Followup to the previous question? The RHV or PAO fuel prices are not reported
in the first FF report that I got today, for a flight from SJC to MHR.
If you had the self-service stops in your data, why wasn't they listed.
A. If they were not reported, it was for one of several reasons???? Out of trip's MFP Percentage Range?? or Another price was less expensive, and within that particular route segment??? or Followup to the previous question? The RHV or PAO fuel prices are not reported in the first FF report that I got today, for a flight from SJC to MHR.
The selection criteria does not care whether the stop is self-service or not. All stops which meet the cost criteria and other supplemental criteria will be listed.
The route report allows you to enter a departure, waypoints, destination, minimum runway length and fuel type. The computer surveys each airport along your route of flight checking comparing every FBOs fuel prices. A report is generated showing the low cost fuel stops along the way.
The program that provides the pilot a customized report, not a statewide listing. The report only lists fuel stops which would add no more than 3% to the pilots flight path. Most listed fuel stops add less than 1 percent to your overall distance flown. On a 500 mile trip this is only 5 miles.
For more info see the more detailed description of the Original "Route Based" Reports.
Date Asked: 07/09/96
Q.
What email address can I send fuel price information to?
A. We are going to be setting up a place on our web interface to do this but for now you can do one of the following.
On most reports there is the section entitled .. Discrepancies..it states...
It is the sole responsibility of the user of the above report to verify, any information contained herein, prior to the reliance upon it.
Please report any discrepancies in the prices or services offered, by the FBOs which are listed in the above report.
The preferred method for reporting any discrepancies is via the internet. Send email to mailto:support@fillupflyer.com, or report it at our web site. This will allow you to quickly and efficiently leave details of any discrepancy.
Please include both the airport identifier and the name of the FBO along with the discrepancy discovered, as well as your name and phone so that we can contact you if neccessary.
Using a touch tone phone call 1-800-333-7900... PRESS 6 AS SOON AS the Voice Mail Message begins speaking. This will allow you to quickly and efficiently leave details of any discrepancy in an electronic voice mailbox. The call is toll free and should take less than a minute to complete.
Please include both the airport identifier and the name of the FBO along with the discrepancy discovered, as well as your name and phone so that we can contact you if neccessary.
Fillup Flyer is trying to provide the most up to date information available.
Thank you -- in advance for your cooperation.
Date Asked: 07/11/96
A. A NON-STOP MULTIPLE DESTINATION REPORT allows you to enter up to 5 airport identifiers, your fuel type, and whether you would like the abbreviated or expanded report format. Our system will return to you all the FBO's that we have in our database for the identifiers that you have entered. This report is good for planes that can get from point A to point B without stopping for fuel, this report does not list any FBO's en route. You are able to turn a 90 degree angle on this report because you can put the identifiers anywhere on the map.
Date Asked: 07/11/96
Q.
How do special requirements work when you ask for them on the
en-route reports?
A. The Fillup Flyer Program divides a trip into route segments. Each route segment covers a linear distance of approximately 60nm. If you answer yes to any of the following special requirements, then the program will ADDITIONALY LIST (if possible) the FBO which has the lowest cost fuel and which also meets the special requirement. This FBO will be listed in addition to the lowest cost FBO which is located on an airport having a published instrument approach.
Date Asked: 07/11/96
Q.
I have noticed that on some of my reports that a FBO with an "ADVERTISMENT"
will appear but doesn't necessarily have the lowest cost FBO. Why would
this show up on my report?
A. The reason a FBO would show up on your report is because this is automatically programmed to appear on a report because that FBO is advertising some specials about their operation. It may not be a low fuel price but it could encourage a pilot to possibly fly in there because they might offer a BED & BREAKFAST on a particular day with a fillup. You would also get the lowest cost FBO in addition to the FBO with the advertisement.
Date Asked: 07/11/96
Q.
Why would it ever be to my advantage to increase my mileage flown to more
that 3%.
A. The default is 3%, but if you would like to increase your mileage flown, you can increase it up to 10% and 12% for jets. An advantage would be that you want the computer to search to the right and the left of the course at a wider range. Also if your looking for auto fuel ( which now days is getting harder to find) the computer will search a wider range for the auto fuel. Also let's say your plane has an auto fuel STC, and you really want to burn auto fuel. By increasing the "IMF" you may find more stops which sell your listed fuel type on the report, instead of a secondary fuel listed.
"SUGGESTION" Some members have said that they run a report using the default "IMF" ,.....then if they either want more of a specific type of fuel availability or they would like to find even lower cost stops, or more oxygen refilling FBO's or more stops having restaurants within walking distance they can increase the "IMF" and run the report again.
A drawback could be if you accept the default 3 percent for 100ll, this means on an 800nm trip no fuel stop listed would require that you fly any farther than an additional 24 nm. The trip will be divided into aproximately 14 route segments. Your report might show a dynamite fuel price for route segment number 7 which would require only 2 additional miles be flown. If you modify the IMF to 6 percent this means on a 800nm trip no fuel stop listed would require that you fly any farther than an additional 56 nm. The trip will still be divided into approximately 14 route segments. The report might now show the lowest cost stop for route segment number 7 as an airport which will require that you fly 49 additional nm. The stop above would only have to be 1 cent less expensive to replace the dynamite fuel price which would have been shown had you not modified the "IMF". Is is worth flying and additional 48 miles to save 1 additional penny per gallon. Probably not.
Date Asked: 07/11/96
Q.
Will I ever get a report that gives me only airport VFR's?
A. To make your flight easier to plan, each route segment will list
a)the FBO selling the lowest cost fuel- If this FBO is not located at an airport having a published instrument approach, then the lowest cost FBO located at an IFR airport is also listed on the report.

Q.
Will there be any new or upgrading software available for AMERICA ON LINE
users in the near future?
A. If you're accessing the Internet through AMERICA ON LINE and using an Intel-Based PC, you will probably want to start using the new "AOL 3.0" software that was finally released last week. The new software has a much-improved WEB BROWSER that finally lets you view many web sites the way it was intended to look. (Other web sites will look a lot better too.)
"AOL" will be mailing diskettes to all users over the next two months,
but you can download the software now from "AOL" (it is 3.3 megabytes).
Use the "AOL" FIND function on the search phrase "AOL 3.0".

Q.
I noticed on my credit card statment that I had a charge to W.D.I.A. CORP.
Who is W.D.I.A. and why is this on my credit card?
A. FILLUP FLYER FUEL FINDER is a division of W.D.I.A CORP. Many FILLUP FLYER members not recognizing the name W.D.I.A have called Mastercard/and or Visa to question the charges made on their credit cards. All FILLUP FLYER charges whether for reports, memberships, or automatic membership renewals will be listed as being billed by W.D.I.A CORP.
This also will appear at the bottom of every report that you run.

Q.
How secure is my credit card when signing up as a non-member?
A. When signing up as a non-member, it is the same as any buying over the Internet, but we can't guarntee without a doubt complete security. There is a very remote risk when you give your credit card. In a restaurant you are at more risk then when signing up over the Internet. If you still have reservations about signing up you can come direct with Fillup Flyer. See our security policy for a better explanation.

A member stated, "The web format is good but when I go to print to a epson printer the web format with the page numbers at the bottom do not fit on a standard 11" long form feed paper and it ejects after each page, then form feeds to top of the next sheet. The report format needs to be shorten to allow for the web address at the top and the page number at the bottom.
Click and dump to a dumb epson tractor feed to see what I am talking about.
A.
The function of printing a web page is 100% the function of YOUR browser software. If you are using Internet Exploer from Microsoft Go to File - Page Setup - Headers/Footers etc.
If you use Netscape 2.0 Go to File - Page Setup
Fillup Flyer has absolutely NO CONTROL over how your printer works on the web.

Question here
The state wide reports ... I thought it gave a listing on all fbo's
that reported to your service for my business. I was very disappointed
in the Ohio report that I received on 7-23-96 from your
service for ten bucks!
A.
The state report clearly indicates that it returns the TEN LOWEST COST FBOS in a state, together with state wide statistics as shwon below.
The statistics allow you to know what a reasonably good price is. For example in your report below you can reason that if you can are getting a price of $1.89 or less, then you are getting a price in the lower 22.9% of the prices available in the state of Ohio.
If we just gave a list of 127 FBOs, it would be in our opinion data overload, and also it would allow competitors to electronically duplicate you price data for 480 dollars.
If we could update all the prices in the US for $480.00 I would be happy to buy it, and write a program to input the data electronically. We currently make over 6000 long distance phone calls each month.

Q.
I think it would be a nice to have a option to dump the report to a text only format to print out real quick in draft format for us pilots that have to go flying with no notice.
Most cases the dealers that I fly for want me to go on no notice!!! I just dont always have time to also send the report to a Hewlett Packard Laser-Jet.
A.
See previous answer reference "File Indexes" and dump the file with yymmddhhmmss name convention it has no HTML code in it.
Also you can request a SHORT print report when running the report.

Q.
Requested state report. After long wait, I got no report. I re-submitted the request and got a message to click button to get the report without additional charge. I clicked the area and got a message that the report contained no data. Help?
A.
The message is protection to keep you from getting billed twice for an identical request, changing any of the entry criteria, lets say changing the runway length.
The message is protection to keep you from getting billed twice for an identical from 3000 to 3001 will allow the request to be reprocessed.
Then sending a mail message to support requesting that you not be billed twice, (in case you would be) will handle the billing.
As to why it didn't go through the first time????? Blame the internet????
Please try again.

Q.
I HAVE NOTICED THAT ON AN AREA REPORT I ONLY GET TO CHOOSE ONE TYPE OF FUEL. WHY IS THAT?
A.
ON AREA REPORTS YOU ONLY GET TO CHOOSE ONE TYPE OF FUEL BECAUSE YOU RECEIVE EITHER 10 OF THE LOWEST COST IN A 50NM RANGE, OR IF YOU PICK THE DISTANCE AREA REPORT YOU GET GROUPS OF 10 OF THE CLOSEST FBO'S IN A 150NM RANGE. THE FUEL DOES NOT DEFAULT TO A SECONDARY FUEL.
ALSO IT IS VERY POSSIBLE THAT WHEN YOU PICK AUTO OR 80 OCTAN FUEL, SINCE THESE TWO FUELS ARE SO HARD TO FIND, THAT YOU MAY NOT RECEIVE ANY FUEL AVAILABE IN A 50NM OR 150NM RANGE. IF THIS HAPPENS AND YOU DO NOT RECEIVE ANY FBO'S AT ALL, WE WILL ISSUE A FREE TRANSACTION TO RE-RUN THE REPORT.

IS THERE ANY WAY THAT I CAN RUN A REPORT WITHOUT HAVING TO GO THROUGH SOME OF THE PAGES ON YOUR WEB SITE, AND ALSO IF I DO NOT WANT ANY GRAPHICS JUST TEXT ONLY? PLEASE HELP SINCE I LIKE TO GET ON AND GET OFF WITH MY INFORMATION AS QUICK AS POSSIBLE.
A.
YES! YOU CAN PUT IN THIS LOCATION AND THIS WILL TAKE YOU TO A MENU THAT ALLOWS YOU TO JUST PICK THE TYPE OF REPORT THAT YOU WANT. BUT KEEP IN MIND THAT IT IS A MENU THAT ONLY RETURNS TEXT INFORMATION. THE LOCATION OR THE BOOKMARKING WOULD BE AS FOLLOWS: HTTP://VOYAGER.WDIA.COM/RPT-TEXT.HTML IF FOR SOME REASON YOU DECIDE THAT YOU WOULD LIKE GRAPHICS YOU CAN ALWAYS JUST GO INTO THE MENU AS FOLLOWS: HTTP://WWW.FILLUPFLYER.COM THEN CLICK ON FILLUP FLYER. THEN YOU CAN JUST CLICK ON THE MEMBER REPORT. THERE ARE ALSO OVER 600 WEB SITES THAT ARE AFFILIATED WITH AVIATION THAT WE ARE SURE YOU WILL ENJOY.

If I decide to use a different credit card is there anyway that I can change that credit card number while on line without having to contact Fillup Flyer. This would be extremely helpful if your office was closed of if I was running my reports on the weekend. Please advise if this is possible.
A.
YES, you can change your credit card by putting in the address location as follows: HTTP://VOYAGER.WDIA.COM//CHANGECC.HTML
Hopefully this will help you in the future so you will be able to access the system 24 hrs a day without any interuptions.

A.
You need to re-sign yourself up since the information did not save to
our database since we were not able to authorize your card. You would
want to make sure that you have entered your date in properly. If the
expiration date is not properly entered, your card will not authorize.
If your credit card doesn't authorize for some other reason you would
have to use a different credit card.

Q.
I'm a Flightstar member and I have notice sometimes when I run a report that the report appears to be running but I get no information. If I'm entering the identifer why doesn't the report give me my fuel stops?
A.
If this happens you need to e-mail our company at support@voyager.wdia or call 1-800-333-7900 between 9am-12 and 1pm-4 est. This means we donot have that identifer in our database or it is possible that the identifer you picked might be a VOR. We would then issue you free transaction to your account so that you can re-run the report picking a different identifer.

Q.
How do I know when it is time for my membership renewal? I know that it does renew automatically but I would like to know if I'm contacted first.
A.
We send out notices of renewal 2 months in advance. If you do not send back the renewal letter then we automatically renew the account. Otherwise if you did not want to renew you would write cancel at the bottom of the letter and return it to Fillup Flyer. As soon as we received the cancellation we note in our database that you did not wish to renew. We take out your credit card and cancel the account at that point. If you still have usage on your account you will still be able to access the service by entering your credit card when you log on. You will be able to do this until your account original setup date has expired.

The problem is that your browser has a bug in it as to how it is
handling java and javascript.
To fix it either...
A) Upgrade your browser to versi
on 3.x of Netscape or Internet Explorer
or
B) Go to the Options Section and find where the browser addresses
java and javascript and disable both of these options.
